Through the language of collage, Sills allows for 'an improvisatory act of transformation as she plays off the poetics (and sometimes absurdity) of historical femininity. Conveying fall plants and silhouettes in a simultaneous act of support and separation, The Sisters, explores complicated relationships while highlighting the act of growth and change.'
The Sisters was made by Sills for the site in celebration of the community gardens and outdoor classrooms underway at CE Studios.'

Sills received her MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Iowa and her BFA in Painting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Along with collage, her painting and ceramic works have been shown throughout the Midwest in group and solo exhibitions as well as collaboratively with The Moving Crew. Sills lives in Chicago, IL where she teaches Drawing and Painting at Northeastern Illinois University and Loyola University Chicago.
